He said Alowonle is “accused of armed robbery, kidnapping, multiple murders,” adding that he had “earlier fired gunshots on police before he was apprehended.”

The second spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, ASP Giwa Alade Emmanuel, confirmed the arrest to our correspondent.

He said, “According to what I know about the case, it was reported at the Oja Oba division and the CP directed that it should be transferred to the anti-kidnapping squad for discreet investigation. The case is still under investigation.”

He said Alowonle and others were intercepted and arrested on Sunday along Ring Road in Osun after receiving credible information about their planned attack on a complainant.
