“BREAKING NEWS” Former Everton Star Townsend Hit by Pitch Roller Before Match – What Happened Next Stuns Fans

Former Everton Winger Andros Townsend Escapes Serious Injury After Bizarre Thailand Incident

Former Everton winger Andros Townsend was fortunate to avoid serious injury after being struck by a pitch roller ahead of a match in Thailand.

The 35-year-old, who now plays for PT Prachuap, was involved in the unusual incident during his team’s warm-up before their clash with Pattani. According to the Liverpool Echo, Townsend was knocked over by the vehicle and ended up underneath it, immediately raising concerns about his condition.

Thankfully, Townsend was able to recover from the incident and was included on the substitutes’ bench. Incredibly, he later made a brief appearance in stoppage time as PT Prachuap secured a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Townsend Recovers to Make Matchday Squad

Footage and reports of the incident quickly circulated, with the seriousness of the situation becoming clear given how easily the former England international could have suffered a major injury.

Instead, Townsend recovered in time to remain involved with the squad and eventually stepped onto the pitch before the final whistle.

The incident adds another remarkable chapter to Townsend’s career, which has included several years in the Premier League.

He joined Everton on a free transfer from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2021 and made 27 appearances during his first season at Goodison Park. The winger scored seven goals in all competitions, including a memorable long-range strike against Burnley in Everton’s 3-1 Premier League victory.

However, his first season with the Toffees was cut short after he suffered a serious knee injury against Crystal Palace in March 2022. The setback ruled him out for the entire following campaign as he underwent a lengthy rehabilitation.

Townsend eventually left Everton when his contract expired in the summer of 2023 before returning to the Premier League with Luton Town. He later continued his career abroad, eventually moving to Thailand.

His latest appearance for PT Prachuap will certainly be remembered for unusual reasons. After being knocked down by a pitch roller before kick-off, Townsend’s ability to recover, take his place on the bench and eventually play in the match represented a remarkable escape from what could have been a much more serious incident.
