DISASTER…Newcastle Fans Will Be Furious as Triple Injury Blow Rocks Club After Leeds Defeat

Newcastle United have been handed a major triple injury setback following their heavy 4-1 defeat to Leeds United at Elland Road.

The Magpies travelled to West Yorkshire without winger Anthony Elanga, who was ruled out after picking up an injury during training. Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle has admitted that the problem could be more serious than initially expected.

Elanga will undergo further medical examinations to determine the full extent of the injury, with Jaissle expressing concern over the winger’s condition.

“Anthony is struggling with an injury. We now need to investigate further how serious it is, but at the moment, it doesn’t look good,” Jaissle explained.

Newcastle suffered another setback before kick-off when Jacob Ramsey was forced to withdraw after feeling a problem in his thigh during the warm-up. The midfielder was unable to take part in the match, leaving Jaissle with fewer options from the bench.

Ramsey’s injury became particularly significant when Newcastle lost Nico Gonzalez during the first half. The midfielder suffered a concussion after being struck in the face by the ball and was eventually taken off despite initially attempting to continue.

Jaissle revealed that Ramsey is now a major doubt for Saturday’s home fixture against Hull City.

“He felt his thigh during the warm-up, so he wasn’t able to play. That was another challenge for us. Many things came together for us that night, and at the moment, it doesn’t look good for the weekend,” the Newcastle boss said.

Meanwhile, Gonzalez is expected to miss the Hull clash as he must follow concussion protocols after the incident.

The summer signing initially tried to remain on the pitch but was withdrawn shortly after receiving medical attention.

Jaissle insisted that Newcastle made the correct decision by prioritising the player’s health over the result.

“With Nico, we have a responsibility as a manager and as a club. He had that knockout feeling, as everyone saw, and we were responsible enough to take him off the pitch,” he said.

“Even though he looked fine, there are specific rules for these situations. Regardless of how important he is to the team or how important winning the match is, we take the player’s health seriously.”

Newcastle will now await further updates on all three players as they prepare for their next Premier League fixture.
