Dujon Sterling Earns Rangers Praise After Impressive Old Firm Display
Dujon Sterling was one of the standout performers as Rangers secured another memorable victory over Celtic.
Derek McInnes’ team followed up their 3-0 Scottish League Cup quarter-final victory over Celtic at Ibrox with another impressive Old Firm triumph, this time recording a 1-0 win at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership.
Ryan Naderi scored the decisive goal to give Rangers all three points, a result that has moved them to within two points of Celtic at the top of the table.
Rangers have now won six consecutive matches in all competitions and will be looking to maintain their excellent run when domestic football returns following the extended international break.
For Sterling, it was another impressive individual performance during what has been a quietly strong campaign for the 26-year-old.
Sterling Impresses at Celtic Park
Operating at right-back, Sterling produced an excellent defensive display and made life difficult for Celtic’s attacking players.
Kieran Tierney struggled to make a significant impact, while Benjamin Nygren and Luke McCowan also found it difficult to influence the game from their attacking midfield positions behind Camilo Duran.
Sterling completed all four of his attempted tackles and won all six of his ground duels. He also came out on top in three aerial challenges.
The Rangers defender recorded 10 recoveries and five clearances, while also successfully completing a crucial last-man tackle.
Following the final whistle, Sterling took to Instagram and shared a picture of himself walking through the tunnel at Celtic Park.
The post quickly attracted attention from several of his Rangers teammates, who were keen to praise his performance.

Tochi Chukwuani also joined the conversation with the word “lockdown”, while former Rangers winger Andy Halliday praised Sterling by calling him the “greatest 1v1 defender in history.”
The reaction from his teammates underlined just how highly Sterling’s performance was regarded inside the Rangers camp.
After another impressive outing against Celtic, the defender will now be hoping to maintain his form when the domestic campaign resumes.
